A personal history in games - Part 1

Video games have been a part of my life since I was very young.

My uncle John purchased my first video game system for me, the original Nintendo Entertainment System, as a birthday present one year, much to my parent's dissipointment.. I would play Mario and Duck Hunt every chance I could get for the few few weeks after receiving the system. Since we only had the one tv in the house it wasn't nearly enough, from my childhood perspective.

Over the years my library slowely grew as I would often receive random games for birthday and christmas presents; Super Mario Brothers 2, Super Mario Brothers 3, Final Fantasy I, and Golgo 13: Top Secret Episode.

When I wasn't playing video games at home, or asking to play them, I was likely playing them at my best friend, Brian's house. Well... when we weren't running around his parent's property getting into tons of trouble that is.

And then the Super Nintendo came out, and of course Brian got one. I wanted to go over to his house for no other reason then to get a chance to play Super Mario World on the new system. Then one day he got Final Fantasy II, and my perception of video games changed forever...
